If the training location is near Varia Vocational College, options include booking an Airbnb apartment in Vantaa or a room at 20Rooms, a hotel with shared common areas and bathrooms within walking distance of the venue and only two stops from the airport. Alternatively, for those preferring to stay closer to central locations, booking a hotel or apartment near Helsinki or Tikkurila railway stations is recommended.

Helsinki Airport (Lentoasema) is Finland’s primary international gateway, located in Vantaa, part of the Finnish Capital Region, which also includes Helsinki, Espoo, and Kauniainen. You can conveniently reach Helsinki Airport from anywhere in Finland with just one train ticket. Another viable option for international travel is Turku Airport, situated approximately two hours by car from Helsinki.

Upon arriving at Helsinki Airport, we recommend purchasing a multi-day ABC ZONES ticket (valid for 1–7 days). This ticket covers public transportation across Helsinki, Vantaa, and Espoo, including buses, trains, trams, and even boats to islands like Suomenlinna. You can buy this Regional Ticket from machines in the arrival terminals, R-kiosks in Terminal 1, or the train station. For the best price and convenience, consider purchasing it through the HSL mobile app.

Train Connections: From Airport to Helsinki and Beyond

Airport to Helsinki Central Railway Station:
The train ride to Helsinki Central Railway Station takes approximately 20 minutes. For the fastest route, take Train P via Tikkurila.

Helsinki Central Railway Station to Varia Vocational College:
To reach Hiekkaharju station near Varia Vocational College, board Train I (direction: Airport) or Train K (direction: Kerava). This journey also takes about 20 minutes. Train monitors display station names, and announcements are made in English for ease of travel.

The tram and bus stops are situated conveniently on the city side of the passenger terminal, ensuring seamless transit to and from the airport.
